worldlineWorldline has extended its collaboration with PSA Payment Services Austria, acting as the technical clearing and settlement partner for domestic and international interbank payments. PSA and Worldline aim to lay the groundwork for a new real-time payment platform for instant, secure and device-independent payments across Austria.

โ€œPSAโ€™s combined clearing and payment systems can provide highly effective support to its customers and Austriaโ€™s entire financial sectorโ€ commented David Ostah, PSAโ€™s Managing Director. โ€œBy working with Worldline, we can bring European expertise to Austria and combine it with our own know-how. Together, we are in an even better position to provide comprehensive cutting-edge solutions for banks and accompany them along all their challenges in market demand and latest trends.โ€

PSA ensures the smooth processing of domestic transfers and direct debits in Austria and also is responsible for establishing international interfaces with foreign banks. It is expected that from 2023 the services will be delivered via Worldlineโ€™s central technical interface.

โ€œWorldline plays a key role at the heart of several countriesโ€™ banking systemโ€, added Michael Steinbach, Worldlineโ€™s Head Financial Services. โ€œAs a longstanding partner of PSA we are delighted that we will also soon be processing Austrian interbank payments and laying the foundations alongside PSA for the instant payments of the future. Our vision is to be able to shape the future of payments with a pan-European solution, featuring secure, seamless and advanced payments โ€“ irrespective of whether they are card or account-based.โ€

Recently, equensWorldline and comdirect extended their existing service agreement enabling the former to process the bankโ€™s new Visa debit card via its API based WL Extended Issuing service. The company stated that through flexible adjustments to equensWorldlineโ€™s front and back-office systems, the service aims to enhance customer experience and efficiency.
