Ghanaians can now access insurance services at Shell fuel stations as a result of a new partnership between Hollard Insurance and oil marketing company, Vivo Energy.

According to the Group CEO of Hollard Ghana, Patience Akyianu, the new partnership, dubbed ‘Hollard-On-The-Go’, will provide a one-stop-shop for insurance at selected Shell and Welcome Shops across the country starting with Adjiringanor, Airport City, Asokwa, Kasoa Amanfrom, Koforidua Highway, Kwadaso, Legon, Old Amakom, Tema Meridian, University of Ghana, and Western Bypass.

She said customers are guaranteed professional service and a full range of financial services by representatives of the company who will offer services including issuing insurance policies and materials, receiving customer premiums, making claims payments as well as taking customer complaints.

She said, “considering that the current penetration of insurance in Ghana is abysmal, just a little over 1% of GDP, there is a need to unwrap insurance from the traditional foil of rigidity.”

She added that under the partnership, “customers visiting selected Shell Shops can get travel Insurance, personal accident, home contents and motor insurance.”

She said the company will go by all Vivo Energy Safety and Health Awareness Guidelines, while employees of both companies work together in the various stations.

Managing Director of VIVO Energy, Hassan Ouattara, said the company is fully committed to creating new employment opportunities as well as developing new partnerships that will make positive impacts in the communities they operate in.

He said the company’s partnership with Hollard will bring insurance solutions to the Ghanaian public by providing more options and easier access to quality products and services to customers.
