Swiss digital bank Alpian goes live on Temenos Banking Cloud

Switzerland-based digital private bank Alpian is now live with core banking and payments services running on Temenos Banking Cloud, hosted on Microsoft Azure.

The bank aims to create an offering that combines everyday banking with personalised investment and private banking services, in a mobile app.

Alpian mobile app is currently available for customers to download and open an account.

Temenos has combined its agile core banking and payments capability with the security and efficiency of Microsoft Azure, with all data being stored at local data centres in Switzerland.

With Temenos Banking Cloud, Alpian can easily compose banking capabilities and scale its business based on demand, while offering better service to clients.

Alpian CEO Schuyler Weiss said: “The go-live on Temenos Banking Cloud is an important milestone in the launch of Alpian.

“We are committed to delivering a premium service and with support from Temenos and Microsoft we can focus on delivering an outstanding service and customer experience knowing our core banking technology is taken care of.”

Alpian combines machine and human intelligence, to provide private banking services and personalised investment services to affluent clients in Switzerland.

The bank’s hybrid model offers a secure and ultramodern banking experience to its affluent clients, which is otherwise reserved for those at a traditional private bank.

Alpian has added everyday banking features into its digital client experience, to match its private banking services.

The features include accounts in four currencies, Swiss Fracs, Euros, Pound Sterling, and US Dollar, all connected under one IBAN using Temenos Multicurrency functionality.

In addition, the features include a foreign exchange and bank transfer service, a metal debit card with in-app controls, and a chat interface to connect with banking specialists.

Temenos CEO Max Chuard said: “Huge congratulations to the Alpian team on this go-live. Alpian is reinventing wealth for the mass affluent, and we are excited to see the bank launch in the Swiss market.

“Temenos is supporting wealth management and private banks old and new to meet the needs of a new generation of investors. Our open platform will help Alpian to operate more cost efficiently, with more agility, enabling them to drive innovation in the market and grow sustainably.”

Microsoft Switzerland CEO Catrin Hinkel said: “With Microsoft Azure and our four local data centres in Switzerland, financial organisations have the infrastructure and security to truly elevate customer experiences.”
