Swiss fintech company Rivero has reportedly partnered with Viseca Payment Services to launch a digital chargeback solution.

Dubbed amiko, the new solution is designed to enable payment card issuers enhance their efficiency in chargeback handling and to offer self-servicing services to their customers.

Chargeback is one of the core payment processes rolled out by payment networks such as Mastercard, Visa, and Amex to protect cardholders in cases of fraud or when there is an issue with the merchant fulfilment of the cardholderโ€™s buy.

The volume of chargebacks is rising due to the introduction of e-commerce capable modern debit cards and the overall surge in e-commerce transactions. It is now crucial for issuers to enhance customer experience as well as process efficiency for chargeback handling.

The integration project began in last October and amiko is currently live in production, processing chargebacks for Visecaโ€™s debit and credit cards.

Viseca head operations risk management Patrick Dessouslavy has been quoted as saying by Fintech Switzerland: โ€œContinuous improvement in our back-office processes and customerโ€™s services is essential for us.

โ€œWe were looking for a solution that helps us to improve the efficiency in our chargeback process and offering cardholder self-servicing, without dependency on our payment processor and huge IT costs.โ€

In 2019, Viseca introduced support for Samsung Pay to allow all Viseca cardholders to use Samsung Pay in making contactless payments at NFC-enabled stores.

Viseca, which offers financial management solutions under the brand Contovista, is an issuer and processor of Mastercard and Visa branded cards in Switzerland.
