Revolut is opening up a big new path for Low Cost money transfer across borders, and it’s going directly to China. In a historic deal with Ant International, the global fintech company is now allowing Alipay users in China to send money instantly, safely, and cheaply, satisfying the growing needs of Chinese populations living abroad.
Revolut’s recent step puts it in a strong position to compete in the digital remittance market, with more than 60 million clients and China being one of the top places in the world for Low Cost money transfer.
A Smooth Bridge to China
Revolut customers all around the globe may now transfer money in Chinese Yuan straight to recipients’ Alipay accounts thanks to a cooperation with Ant International. You only need an Alipay ID, the name and address of the person you’re sending money to, and the money will be sent right away.
This integration changes the game, especially for Chinese people living abroad who send money home all the time. China received around $48 billion in remittances in 2024, making it one of the top five countries in the world for receiving money from abroad.
Low Costs, Big Effects
Revolut’s new service has some of the best prices on the market:
- Standard clients just have to pay 0.15% (minimum SG$5.90).
- Premium clients get a rate of 0.12 percent, which is at least SG$4.72.
- Customers who pay with metal get free transfers.
This is in line with Revolut’s previous decreases to fees for international money transfers, and it shows that fintech is still committed to making global finance easy to use and affordable.
Ant International Runs the Engine
Ant International’s worldwide remittance solutions fuel the transfers. These are the same systems that Alipay+ uses to link 36 e-wallets throughout the globe. This makes sure that everything is legal, quick, and stable across borders.
“We’re grateful to collaborate with industry leaders like Revolut,” said Jacques Xu, General Manager of Global Remittance Business at Ant International. Together, we’re redefining the cross-border experience for the next generation.
From Disruption to Building Blocks
Revolut’s growing remittance suite currently includes Instant Card Transfers, mobile wallet integrations (like M-Pesa and bKash), and free peer-to-peer transfers between Revolut users in over 80 countries. The Alipay connection adds to this suite.
Revolut is no longer simply disrupting; it’s becoming the infrastructure as it continues to develop with speed, scalability, and user experience in mind with Low Cost money transfer.
