KBC Bank Ireland has renewed its agreement with payments provider TSYS for processing of its credit and debit cards.

Under the extended deal, TSYS will continue to provide the processing services. Additionally, TSYS will also offer support for the bank’s digital applications platform and Wallet Pay launch.

The agreement also involves strategic support from the payments provider for KBC Bank’s future growth and advancement of product suite.

KBC Bank Ireland head of cards and payments Alistair Carter said: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with TSYS and look forward to their continued support as we bring new market innovations and digital experiences to our customers for a better banking experience.”

TSYS senior vice-president and managing director of international markets Rene Kruse said: “TSYS and KBC have developed a strong relationship over the past few years. We will continue to work with the bank to deliver new and innovative solutions and help meet their strategic long-term goals.”

Headquartered in the US, TSYS provides a variety of payment services such as processing, merchant acquiring and prepaid programme management.

Over the past year, the company agreed to offer card processing services to multiple firms, including Regions Bank, Nationwide Building Society and Bank of the West.

TSYS, which operates in 13 countries, generated $4.9bn in revenue and processed more than 27.8 billion transactions in 2017.
