ProgressSoft is delighted to announce the successful launch of its trail blazing Mobile Payment Solution (PS-mPay) by Zain, the leading telecommunications company in Jordan, in November 2017.

Since its inception in 1995, Zain quickly became the leading telecommunications company in Jordan, a position that it has maintained to this day through its successful, strategic long-term vision of boosting investment in cutting edge technology which provides state-of-the-art services to its customers; the latest of which is ProgressSoft’s Mobile Payment Solution (PS-mPay).

PS-mPay is a contemporary mobile payments platform that allows for domestic and cross-border remittances for banked and unbanked users. The innovative solution offers payment services that include person-to-person, person-to-business and person-to-government money transfers; in addition to bill payment, direct credits and point-of-sale payments.

PS-mPay will empower Zain with the ability to provide various services to unbanked customers in the Kingdom. The wide set of convenient payment services include person-to-person money transfers, mobile bill payments, mobile top-up, and VISA and MasterCard payments using mobile wallets. In addition to this, merchant credit, debit and reversal payments, ATM cash-out using cards and internet post-paid and pre-paid payments are all supported. Moreover, the launch offers unbanked customers the benefits of customer registration through agents, and agent cash-in.

The partnership between ProgressSoft and Zain and the successful launch of PS-mPay, not only adds to Zain’s rich product portfolio, but also instigates a new, ground-breaking payments era in the Kingdom.

Jordan is at the forefront of financial inclusion efforts both in the region and globally since the launch of JoMoPay by the Central Bank of Jordan in early 2014. It became the first national switching infrastructure, with the purpose of enabling interoperability between mobile payment services in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. JoMoPay is the first milestone in ProgressSoft’s successful implementations in the mobile payments ecosystem in Jordan.
