New banknote processing system BPS C2 increases efficiency in the cash cycle

G+D Currency Technology adds the BPS C2 to its portfolio of banknote processing systems. The combination of connectivity, productivity, and usability enhances efficiency and competitiveness in the cash cycle. In addition, it has been recognized with the German Design Award 2018 for Excellent Product Design.

The requirements placed on banknote processing systems by commercial banks, CIT companies, and casinos are high, and they will continue to increase in future. “We meet these demands with the BPS C2, enabling extremely high performance in even the smallest of spaces,” explained Wolfgang Kneilmann, Head of the Currency Management Solutions Division, and Member of the G+D Currency Technology Management Board. “High throughput, improved usability, and the ability to network with advanced tools and applications increase our customers’ efficiency, and therefore their competitiveness,” continued Kneilmann.

A best-in-class sensor system
Whether counting, sorting, performing authentication, or reading serial numbers, the BPS C2 operates at consistently high speed, and ensures maximum productivity at a throughput of 1,050 banknotes per minutes. The best-in-class sensor technology built into the table-top system also ensures that banknotes are sorted according to fitness for circulation, to the highest standards: “The system’s unrivaled ability to detect counterfeits, and to reliably and consistently sort according to fitness throughout the system’s life cycle, sets new benchmarks,” explained Wolfgang Kneilmann.

Outstanding design
With the BPS C2, G+D Currency Technology has created a new, industrial design standard “Made in Germany”. Its ergonomic design is intuitive and user-friendly, and enhances productivity due to a new arrangement of feeder and output pockets. The latest accolade bestowed on the system – the prestigious 2018 German Design Award for Excellent Product Design – reflects the positive response to the BPS C2: ”This extremely compact banknote processing machine features a dynamically contemporary design aesthetic and outstanding user friendliness”, states the jury.
